
Tyler N. Doerrer
Associate
Tyler Doerrer is an Associate with Black McCuskey and focuses his practice on litigation. He is an experienced litigator in handling business litigations, evictions, professional negligence, and a broad spectrum of civil disputes. He has courtroom experience, strong trial advocacy skills, and a results-driven approach to resolving complex legal matters for clients across industries.
Additionally, Tyler served as an Assistant Prosecutor in Richland County where he managed a docket of over 90 criminal cases and regularly appeared in court for jury trials, motion hearings, and plea negotiations. Tyler’s background includes legal clerkships with the Cincinnati Insurance Company and the City of Akron, where he assisted in civil litigation, municipal law, and risk management matters.
While attending The University of Akron School of Law, Tyler competed on the nationally recognized trial team, was a member of the honors program, and earned a certificate in litigation. During his time at Oakland University, Tyler focused his studies on homeland security and competed as a varsity swimmer.
Committed to his community, Tyler volunteers with Blessings in a Backpack, helping feed food-insecure children on weekends, and coaches youth swimming, fostering confidence and skill development in young athletes. Outside of work, he enjoys kayaking, outdoor recreation, and staying active in community service initiatives.
