Michael P. Farrell

Partner

Mike Farrell is a Partner with Black McCuskey and focuses his practice on corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, and general corporate governance and transactional matters.  He represents clients across a variety of industries, including banking, financial services, technology, security, manufacturing and professional services.  Mike has assisted clients with various types of business transactions, including commercial and structured finance matters on behalf of lenders and borrowers, stock and asset acquisitions, mergers, corporate divestitures, commercial leasing, corporate reorganizations, international distribution agreements, loan workouts and commercial contract negotiations.

Mike graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with additional focus in finance and math in 2008 and a Masters in Finance in 2009, and received his juris doctorate in 2012 from the Washington University School of Law.  While attending law school, he interned at an M&A-focused investment bank in St. Louis and served as an associate and staff editor of the Washington University Global Studies Law Review for which his research note was selected for publication in 2013.

Mike has been included in the Best Lawyers in America® Ones to Watch list for Corporate Law in 2021, Corporate Law and Mergers & Acquisitions Law in 2022 and Corporate Law and Public Finance Law in 2023, and the Best Lawyers in America® list for Banking and Finance Law in 2026.

Mike served as an Advisory Board Member for the Gateway Film Center from 2019 to 2022, and is a member of the American Bar Association, Business Law Section, and the Ohio State Bar Association.
