Prior to joining the firm’s Estate and Trust Practice Group in 1997, Jim spent over 20 years as a Bank Trust Department Executive.  Jim has extensive experience in trust and estate matters.  Jim was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© 2010-2020 and has been recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyer for 2024 in the area of Trusts & Estates.

Jim is a member of the Stark County and the Ohio State Bar Association.  He is an active member of the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section Council of the State Bar Association.  He is Chairman of the Scholarship Committee of the Stark County Bar Association, and is a member of the Stark County Bar Association Probate and Estate Planning Committee, as well as the Elder Law Committee.  He is also a member of the Stark County Estate Planning Committee.  Jim is involved with a number of local foundations; the Walsh University Planned Giving Advisory Board, the Canton Salvation Army Advisory Board, various boards at his church, the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, and other community activities.
