Attorney Rod A. Moore Named Shareholder

Black McCuskey is pleased to announce that Attorney Rod A. Moore has been named a shareholder and director of the firm. Rod is a partner with Black McCuskey and focuses his practice in the areas of business, corporate, real estate, and land use.

Bruce Soares, Managing Partner of the firm, commented, “Rod is an outstanding young man and an integral team member of the corporate and real estate practice groups. We are very pleased to name him as one of the directors of Black McCuskey.”

Rod is experienced in handling complex commercial and corporate transactional matters for large, medium, and small companies. He regularly drafts and negotiates contracts for daily operations and special projects involving land acquisition, lending, land use matters, services and materials procurement, and software licensing. Individuals, developers, and builders come to Rod for contract development for all phases of residential and commercial real estate projects.

A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Akron School of Law. During the summer of 2014, he worked as a summer associate at Black McCuskey. Prior to attending the University of Akron, School of Law, Rod obtained his bachelor’s degree in government and foreign affairs at Walsh University. He obtained minor degrees in economics and general business from Walsh as well. Rod graduated magna cum laude and completed the Walsh University Honors Program.

In 2020, Rod was selected as one of 20 outstanding leaders under the age of 40 by ystark! (the young professionals organization of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce) and The Repository. He is a graduate of the 31st class of the Leadership Stark County Signature program. He and his family reside in Green, and he is a former member of the City of Green Parks and Recreation Board and past Chair of the Pipeline Settlement Advisory Committee. Additionally, Rod served as an Adjunct Business Professor at Walsh University. Rod’s appreciation for the arts has led him to serve on the Board of Directors for ArtsinStark. He is also a board member of DCLB Corp., TomTod Ideas and the Akron Law Alumni Association.
