Bob Friedman has practiced law in Stark County for over 50 years, devoting a substantial portion of his practice to matters of corporate law, nursing home law, estate planning and probate.  In addition to his active legal practice, Bob served for 7½ years (1992-98) as the Firm’s Managing Director.  A graduate of Indiana University with a B.A. in Political Science, Bob earned his law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law where he served as Associate Editor of the Ohio State University Law Journal.  Bob is recognized by his peers as one of the preeminent lawyers in his field, having received an AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell*. 

 

Bob has served on numerous boards and committees in the legal community, including serving for four terms as a member of the Council of Delegates of the Ohio State Bar Association and several terms on the Executive Committee of the Stark County Bar Association, where he continues to serve.  He is also a Fellow of the Ohio State Bar Foundation.  Bob is active in the Stark County community where he is a past Chair of Leadership Stark County, past President and Trustee of the Canton Jewish Community Federation and a past Trustee of the Canton Club.  In addition, Bob is past President and Honorary Lifetime Trustee of Temple Israel and past President and Trustee of Interfaith Campus Ministry at Kent State University Stark campus and Stark State College of Technology.  Bob is a founding member, past Trustee and Chair of the First Membership Campaign of Friends of the Stark County District Library.  He has also been a Stark County Legal Aid Society Pro Bono participant and received the Outstanding Individual Pro Bono Award in 2001-2002.

 

Nationally, Bob has completed multiple terms as Vice President and Chair of the Community Services and Small Federations Committees of the Council of Jewish Federations, now known as United Jewish Communities, Inc., an international organization which serves more than 200 Jewish Community Federations in the United States and Canada. He was honored by SBN Magazine for his volunteerism in December, 2002.

 

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Bob and his wife, Diane, have two grown children.  Their daughter, Julie, is Vice President of Quark Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Fremont, California.  Their son, Jeff, is an Attorney practicing commercial real estate law in Chicago, Illinois.
