Black McCuskey Welcomes Attorney Zachary Hawks

Black McCuskey is pleased to announce that Zachary A. Hawks (Zack) has joined the firm as an Associate Attorney. He focuses his practice in the areas of business, and intellectual property, including patent, trademark, and copyright law. Zack is a member of the patent bar.

Prior to joining the firm, Zack's practice was focused on intellectual property, primarily patent law in the chemical and mechanical arts in addition to trademark law. It involved assisting foreign and domestic clients both large and small with patent preparation and prosecution. It also included helping clients with legal opinions relating to patentability, clearance and infringement of patents, and the state of the art in particular patent fields.

While attending the University of Akron, School of Law, Zack served as a Production Editor and an Assistant Editor of the Akron Law Review. He focused his legal coursework on intellectual property, obtaining an LL.M. in Intellectual Property in addition to a J.D. Prior to attending law school, Zack obtained his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Ohio University. During his time at Ohio University, Hawks was a member of Tau Beta Pi, The Engineering Honor Society.

Zack is a member of the Akron Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
