Michelle Schuld is an associate with Black McCuskey Souers & Arbaugh, LPA, and focuses her practice in the areas of real estate, business law, and commercial transactions. A licensed title agent, she has experience in handling a variety of real estate matters including assisting individuals and businesses with the acquisition and disposition of real estate, drafting and negotiating commercial leases, landlord/tenant issues, and condominium law. Michelle also has experience in working with businesses on entity formation and a variety of transactional matters.
A graduate of The University of Akron School of Law, Michelle was awarded CALI Awards of Excellence in Property, Comparative Legal Studies and Commercial Paper. She served as both an assistant and associate editor for the Akron Law Review, and authored the article Statutory Misinterpretation, Small v. United States Darkens the Already Murky Waters of Statutory Interpretation, 40 Akron L. Rev. 751, (2007). Michelle was an active member of the Moot Court Honor Society, participating in the New York Bar Association National Moot Court Competition for two years, where her team earned the award for “Best Brief” in a regional competition and advanced to the national rounds. She was a member of the Student Bar Association, serving as president of her class during the 2005-2006 academic year, and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity.
Michelle began as a summer associate with Black McCuskey and joined the firm as an associate in 2007. During law school, she completed an externship with the Honorable Judge Dan Aaron Polster of the United States District Court, and served as a legal drafting instructor at The University of Akron School of Law. Michelle has a broad range of experience in the legal field, having worked as a paralegal for four years where she assisted attorneys and clients on a variety of litigation matters.
Michelle serves as Vice President of the Board for Women’s Initiative Network, is an Ambassador in Action for the Early Childhood Resource Center, and is a member of both the Stark County and Ohio State Bar Associations.
