Jason (Jay) Deeds has practiced law in Tuscarawas County for 20 years. Jay was a partner in the firm Hanhart, Deeds & Bauer, which merged with Black, McCuskey in 1999. Jay is a member of the firm’s Business, Estates & Trusts, Labor & Employment, Health Care and Real Estate Practice Groups.
He devotes a substantial portion of his practice to Business, Estate Planning and Real Property matters. Prior to attending Ohio Northern University’s College of Law, Jay earned a Bachelors degree from Denison University where he was active in a fraternity, sports, student judicial counsel and a variety of other organizations. Jay is a member of the Tuscarawas County and Ohio State Bar Associations.
Active in the Tuscarawas County community, Jay is a trustee for the Tuscarawas County YMCA, Vice President of the Board for Union Hospital and he volunteers with the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges. He is currently a trustee of the Tuscarawas County Community Improvement Corporation (CIC). Additionally, Jay has served on the board of directors of United Way, serving as Campaign Chairman in 1991 and as Board President in 1992. He was past Chairman of the Board of the Tuscarawas County YMCA, served on the board for the Tuscarawas Philharmonic, Dover Schools Education Foundation and Dover Rotary Club (past President of the Board).
