A former partner of Hanhart, Deeds & Bauer, which merged with Black McCuskey in 1999, Erick concentrates his practice in the areas of Domestic Relations, Litigation, Personal Injury and Landlord-Tenant Disputes. He has litigated and won cases where awards for his clients have exceeded $1 million dollars. In addition, Erick works with township officials in handling the rights, powers, duties, obligations, and limitations of governmental entities.

He is a graduate of The Ohio State University and received his bachelor’s degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice. Erick earned his law degree from the Ohio Northern University School of Law where he was a member of the Moot Court Board of Advocates.

He is a member of the Tuscarawas County and Ohio State Bar Associations and served as president of the Tuscarawas County Bar in 1997; the same year he was admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States of America Bar. Erick was appointed to serve as a board member of the Tuscarawas County Public Defenders in 2004, and has served as a trustee on the board of the Tuscarawas County United Way and a campaign Professional Division Leader. He is currently a board member of the Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Erick is chairperson of the United Way First Call for Help and previously participated in the YMCA campaign fund for building expansion. He has coached and judged for the Ohio Center for Law Related Education Mock Trial Competition.
